AWARDS FOR ALL SCHEME

Awards for All is a grants programme set up to help small groups. It is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the arts Council of England, Sport England and the National Lottery Charities Board.

The main aim of the scheme is to fund small community based projects enabling people

to enjoy arts, SPORT, heritage, charitable and other community activities.

Grants can range between £500 and £5000 and must be spent within a year (this is not

usually a problem!) Squash Clubs can apply providing they have the following:

1. A constitution or a set of rules

2. A bank account which requires at least two signatures

3. A committee

4. A set of accounts

With the help of England Squash many clubs in England have already received a grant, some have even received a second grant. (Although funds have to be spent within a year

new projects can be funded the following year).

The grant can be used for a wide range of activities which may include the following;

Coach Education, First Aid courses, Child Protection

Referee and marking courses

School links – funding a coach to visit local schools to introduce squash

Coaching courses for juniors, adults, women only, disabled groups

Establishing racketball

Running a new tournament or event

Publicity costs – newspaper advertisements, flyers, posters, newsletters etc.

Equipment – Rackets, balls, protective eyewear, even a boasting machine

The application process is simple and straight forward and generally takes no more than about two hours. Once submitted a group should hear within 2 – 3 months.

It is also possible for schools to apply, Heathside School in Weybridge have already received a grant to establish an after school squash club at their local leisure centre.

Essex Clubs have already received a total in excess of £30k, your club can apply too!
